We recently installed new bird feeders in our backyard. We've already had lots of visitors!
A white-breasted nuthatch
Lots of house sparrows around
A grey catbird
Another house sparrow
There was a robin picking up the leftovers
A chickadee
We've had lots of non-bird visitors too!
This chipmunk couldn't pass up the offer of free seed
A house sparrow
We even had a groundhog!
Here's a juvenile robin
Until next time!
I have never seen a catbird before--very nice! Chickadees: gotta love'm! Nuthatches are very cool--little compact birds that can travel down a tree trunk headfirst. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuthatch And that is one healthy rabbit! GREAT photos!
ReplyDeleteNuthatches are the only tree climbers that make a habit of climbing head first down trees. They often cling to trees with their heads at a 90 degree angle to a tree. How does it do this? Well, it has long, strong hind claws that aids in its climb! http://www.birdinginformation.com/birds/nuthatches/white-breasted-nuthatch/
